Abstract
This study investigated the factors influencing students’ performance in Trade and Entrepreneurship subjects in senior secondary schools in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Nigeria. Specifically, Two research questions and two null hypotheses guided the study. A descriptive survey design was adopted, and a sample of 370 SS II students was selected from six senior secondary schools using stratified random sampling. A structured 10-item questionnaire was used for data collection, and data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis. Findings revealed that teacher-related factors, school-related factors, and students’ attitudes significantly influenced performance in Trade and Entrepreneurship. Based on these findings, recommendations were made that educational authorities should provide regular training and professional development to enhance Trade and Entrepreneurship teachers’ skills and teaching methods and government and school administrators should equip schools with necessary materials, practical facilities, and a supportive learning environment.
