Abstract
English teachers in Nigeria resorted to digital modes of teaching English during the COVID-19 era as maintaining social distancing became paramount, and the governments of different nations implemented the lockdown. This paper explores the methods of planning, monitoring, and evaluation (PME) within the context of English language education and their implications for sustainable development post-COVID. This qualitative paper used Focus Group Discussions (FGD 1, 2, and 3) as a research method. It involved oral interviews that accommodated 15 students from two public and one private secondary school, respectively, in Abuja, Nigeria. It emphasizes adaptive strategies that enhance instructional effectiveness, learner engagement, and long-term educational resilience. The study concludes with recommendations to optimize PME for sustainable learning outcomes.
